BK Music has become a staple for music fans in the RVA over the past 13 years. Sadly the run comes to an end tomorrow... for now.
It's been one of my favorite places for vinyl, CD's, and shirts, especially around the numerous Record Store Days over the past several years. Bill Kennedy is an all-out class act who loves music and XL102. Plus, he's a Red Sox fan, so you know he's good people.
I can't imagine a Chili Cook Off without BK Music doing artist signings next to our broadcast stage. But, that could be a reality for 2014. The store is being forced out of their current location on Midlothian Turnpike. The landlord of the building has decided to use a clause in the lease agreement that kicks them out in favor of a Chipotle or something of the like.
Tomorrow BK Music will close down, but it might not be forever. Bill is considering some other locations on Richmond's south side.
